Fado 

Fado is one of the last authentic forms of European urban music – born in the alleys of Lisbon and cherished in the traditions of Coimbra. This enchanting music tells stories of love, longing, and saudade – the untranslatable Portuguese feeling of melancholy and yearning.

For the past 16 years, we at Montegordo-Online have been organizing Fado evenings in Vila Real de Santo António, attracting guests from near and far.

​

We are proud to say that we host the most regular Fado evening in the Algarve, featuring a variety of talented fadistas who bring new life to this timeless tradition.
